 | It has been a totally crazy summer for us mer-fans! There's been so much on the go since our last post in July! Be sure to have a look around the website to see all the latest updates. I (Raina) have been updating whenever I have free time. As we announced Raina and Sean expanded the business to be Canadian Mermaids. It's been really great. With Nessie off to Newfoundland in the fall we're excited to support her on her journey and help her bring the mermaid life out that way. We're also excited to introduce you to our newest mermaid... Mutiny went through a long process do audition for us, and we're now happy to be booking her as a second mermaid at bookings. We're hoping that with her new awesome mermaid skills and merwrangler, she'll be able to branch out and take bookings on her own too!

Summer Camps
Through July and August Raina has the amazing experience of getting to surprise participants of the Young Naturalist Club summer camp. Once every two weeks Raina swam to their shores to play games, give rides, pose underwater, talk about the ocean, and surprise everyone! It was a moving experience that I'll never forget. The camp give kids the chance to really connect with nature and I can't recommend it enough. Here are some photos and videos

Book Photo Shoot
Sean and Raina took a sunny weekday and set to work photographing the back cover of her soon to be released follow up to Fishy Business. We had a lot of fun messing around with our underwater camera housing, and our separate underwater camera. We got some great photos to use for promotional purposes, and some great video. Check it out!
Media Coverage
 | We got some great and unexpected media coverage during our Keshen Goodman Library booking. Raina taught about the ocean, read books, and passed out treasures to 300 kids! The news coverage was fin-tastic and we're happy to share a copy of it with you below. Can you believe Raina was feeling under the weather while filming it?? |
Mermaid Mimi's Merrific Wedding!
Our own Mermaid Mimi had a fairy tale wedding to her merwrangler Marc. The two tied the knot and celebrated right next to the ocean. The whole wedding was mermaid/ocean themed and simply beautiful. Raina was lucky enough to be a bride's maid, and Sean was the videographer. We feel so blessed to have shared this special day with Mimi. She had a beautiful custom bouquet made of all her late grandmother's costume jewellery. Simply amazing! Check out some of the photos Raina snapped below!
Birthday Parties
Of course the birthday parties have been a big hit all summer too. You can see a lot of photos on our facebook page and our photo gallery here. Here's a really funny clip of how Raina and Mimi got around at a booking this summer. Hilarious!
Pirate Festival
 | all though we got rained out Raina and Nessie really enjoyed the pirate festival! We met many young pirates, went for a dip in Mahone Bay, and had a real splash. Nessie even got to learn a little more about her favourite sea creatures and we scored some cool local shirts! |

Everything Else!
It's been a busy summer and we anticipate a busy August. With many bookings on the way, a few public events (be sure to check the upcoming events page), Mimi off on her Honey Moon (don't worry she'll be back!) and Mutiny about to get married and go on her Honey Moon too! Nessie and Naida are both getting ready for school in the fall and Raina... well I'm just keeping myself as busy as possible ;) Enjoy some of these behind the scenes photos!
