Life has been really fast and really crazy this past little while! Only a few weeks since our last post and the mermaids have been going all out. We love this sunny weather. It means we get to go outside and into the fresh air instead of stuck inside (though we love our indoor pools). I want to start off by letting you know Mermaid Nessie graduated from high school (and got scholarships!) and also had her prom. Nessie will be leaving for Newfoundland at the end of the summer, and helping us branch out when she does. For now, we're going to keep enjoying her awesome mermaidy self and put her to work. |
Congrats Nessie!! We are so proud of you
Another little update: for those die hard fans out there we started a Halifax Mermaid facebook group for fans to follow more content. Just another way to get around the frustrations of low facebook reach. You can find the group and request to join here.
The mermaids were seen recently at the Department of Defense: Family Days celebration, along with the multicultural festival celebration. (Multifest 30) We'd like to thank everyone who came out and all the people who worked so hard to put on these events. You can see photo albums on the links below! (one of the multifest photos went viral on reddit and 9gag)
Proud to announce Sean and I are the official registered owners of Canadian Mermaids!! This is the country wide version of our company of which Atlantic Mermaids and Halifax Mermaids are divisions ( with more coming as we expand). It is our goal to recreate the success of Halifax Mermaids across the country by mentoring other Canadian mermaids and enabling them to entertain and educate others. As a mermaid agency we hope to book mermaids across our home and native land and continue to raise the bar in mermaid entertainment and creative environmental education. It has been an awesome journey so far and I'd like to thank Terry Norman of our board of directors for helping to facilitate this process. Thank you to our current mermaids Mimi, Nessie, and Naida for helping build this opportunity and for all their hard work spreading joy and education and for their valuable input that has seen Halifax Mermaids grow in leaps and bounds. Thank you to all our business mentors too. This is going to be a Splash!!
You can see the website by clicking on the left hand side here for Canadian mermaids or go to www.canadianmermaids.com keep an eye out for Atlantic Mermaids too! So exciting.
